FAQ
Some frequently requested info and questions along with general useful information.
-
If an order is cancelled prior to being shipped, a full refund will be issued.
Should a request be sent after the rental has shipped, one day's rental cost will be charged in addition to the intercept fee and any other charges applied by the shipping company. This is not a guarantee and should the rental not be eligible for intercept after request, there will be no cancellation and the full charge will persist.
If the rental is delivered, there are no refunds.

If something is missing from the packing list, email us what item is missing and the amount.
If something is damaged, take a picture of the damage and email us. In the event the actual device itself is damaged in transit; we will ship another device, if available. If no device of equal spec is available, you can choose a different device and be refunded or charged the difference. Otherwise, send the kit back with the label and a full refund will be issued.
If you rented a device for an event, we will attempt to ship another device in time for that event. If it is not possible to ship a device in time, a full refund will be issued.

In the event there is a malfunction with a device, video or photo (whichever or both if necessary) the problem and email us immediately. Do not attempt to diagnose the issue beyond changing the batteries. The most common issues related to perceived malfunctions are:
- Dead batteries.
- No batteries inserted.
- Incorrectly inserted batteries.
- Failure to securely screw battery compartment completely. You don't need to over torque it, but it needs to be tight.
- Failure to properly connect Fischer or LEMO cables from battery packs.
-
If a device is available but past the buffer zone in the calendar, email us the day you need it and we will see if we can accommodate at an additional cost for expedited shipping. The fastest delivery possible is 1-2 days and shipping times are an estimate, not a guarantee and vary based on location. We recommend trying not to rent devices fewer than 2 days out.

We have gen 2+ and gen 3 units which include Elbit, Photonis and NNVT tubes.
Which is better is dependent on the device and situation it's being used in. For the most part, equally spec'd tubes will perform IDENTICAL with minor noticeable improvements as specs move across the spectrum. That being said, gen 3 tubes are a better all-around option.
This does not mean gen 2+ is bad or can't hang with gen 3 in most environments. A decent spec'd gen 2+ will work for 99% of applications. But when there's less and less light, gen 3 will always outshine gen 2+ when properly compared due to having higher gain.
Even the best tubes will need supplemental IR when there's not enough ambient light, and if you're not worried about someone seeing you using IR light, any tube will work.

It comes down to personal preference.
In our opinion having spent 100's of hours behind both, white gives better contrast and is nicer to look through, especially for longer periods.
This is also heavily dependent on tube and lens quality. If you have shit specs on your white phos unit and garbage lenses, a better spec'd green unit will look better and vice versa.
Thanks to companies like Low Light Innovations, filters can be installed to make green phos units look more white. Check out the comparison below.
